Honeysuckle - Freedom
Freedom Honeysuckle, Lonicera 'Freedom', is resistant to the witches broom aphid that attacks other Honeysuckle. White tinged pink flowers in spring produce small, rounded red fruit in summer. Excellent hedge or background plant. Its primary use is in windbreak and shelterbelt plantings and as a background screen in large areas. The foliage is bluish-green in color with a fine texture. Plant habit is somewhat loose without pruning because of its vigorous growth rate. Its fruit is a bright red berry which provides a nice contrast with the blue-green foliage. This xeriscape plant is quite tolerant to a broad range of soil conditions but prefers a loam soil. Needs full sun for best effect. Freedom grows 8-10 feet in height and width. Honeysuckles are easy to grow, vigorous, heat-tolerant, and nearly indestructible. The flashy and fragrant flowers will attract hummingbirds and butterflies all summer long. Many honeysuckles will thrive in containers as well. ... get more information
Butterfly Bush - White The White Butterfly bush, Buddleia davidii 'Alba', is easily grown in average, medium wet, well-drained soil in full sun. This deciduous bush becomes weedy and sparse with diminished flowering performance if not grown in full sun. Does poorly in wet conditions. In USDA Zones 5 and 6, this plant will often die to the ground in winter and therefore is often grown in the manner of an herbaceous perennial. Even if plants do not die to the ground in winter, they usually grow more vigorously, produce superior flowers and maintain a better shape if cut to the ground in late winter each year. Removal of spent flower spikes during the growing season will encourage additional bloom, but consider leaving final blooms in place to facilitate reseeding.
