Lungwort - Milky Way

The Lungwort Milky Way, 'Pulmonaria', also known as Bethlehem Sage, is a great ground cover for any shady area, helping to lighten up parts of the garden. The pink and white flowers bloom in April and fade to blue and make a great contrast to the foliage. The foliage is lance-shaped and heavily spotted with silver, not to mention mildew resistant. ‘Milky Way’ has a plant height of 21” and a spread of 18-23”. ‘Milky Way’ needs to be planted in a full shaded area with well-drained soil. Mullein - Bananna Custard The Verbascum Banana Custard, 'Verbascum hybridum', also known as Mullein, has huge, two-toned flowers that are useful in any perennial garden. The flowers are bright and light yellow, making it different from the rest. The foliage is light green, which adds contrast to the flower color. ‘Banana Custard’ has a plant height of 2-4’ and a plant spread of 1-2’ and blooms from late spring into summer. Removing spent flowers to encourage additional bloom time. This low maintenance perennial requires dry to medium soil and should be planted in full sun for best results. Verbascum will tolerate a wide range of soil conditions but must have good drainage or it could be fatal. ‘Banana Custard’ can be planted in rocky slopes to add color, as a border plant or in cottage gardens.
